It is amazing how fast the month of August goes and how exhausted everyone involved with Student Affairs and Enrollment Management feels at this time. Everywhere I look the rush and excitement of “welcome weeks” is starting to wane, and the day to day activities of our jobs, with meetings, debriefs of move-ins & Convocations, etc and those inevitable first judicial reports are starting to roll in.
It is at this time though that it is important to step back and take a look at all that has been accomplished. RA training (check), Res Hall and apartment move in’s (Check) Welcome week activities (check) students feeling good about their experiences (check). So, take time to thank all of those that you work with that have made the start of the new academic year so successful.
