Meet the newest Graduate Student Rep!

Greetings NASPA IV-West!
My name is Torrey Eason and I will have the honor and pleasure of serving as your new graduate student representative for the regional advisory board! I’m originally from Terrell, TX and I completed my undergraduate career at the University of Arkansas in May 2010. I am now pursuing a Masters degree in Educational Administration with an emphasis in Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln! My “Hog to Husker” transformation is still a work in progress but I am enjoying myself nonetheless! To say I’m excited about this position would be an understatement. Through my experiences as a NASPA Undergraduate Fellow and now as a graduate member of the organization, my knowledge and passion for the field of student affairs has been enriched and strengthened. NASPA has had a very positive effect on my career thus far in students affairs and I feel as though I owe it to the organization to serve in some kind of capacity so I afford someone else the opportunity to have a positive NASPA experience as well.
I would like to see our graduate students play a more active role in our region. We have some good things happening here in IV-West! My admiration for the region is pretty apparent since my choices for undergrad, my NUFP summer internship and graduate school were all institutions of Region IV-West! I’d like to give the graduate students of IV-West an opportunity to continue to make our region one of the best in the nation. I plan on creating more opportunities for us graduate students to form a strong regional network through more correspondence via social media and the regional newsletter as well providing everyone with plenty of opportunities for us to convene at the regional conference. I’d also like for graduate student of the region to reach out and mentor our NUPFellows as these students are truly our future! They need as much guidance as possible! In order to make this happen, I need my fellow graduate students to jump on board and also be present in Denver! Feel free to contact me with any ideas, comments and suggestions that you might have for the graduate students and young professionals of Region IV-West!
I look forward to seeing you all in the Mile High City!
Sincerely,
Torrey Eason
