It's up to you!

By now you have all received word that we will be sending the NASPA/ACPA Consolidation question to a vote.  That vote will take place in March and April of 2010 and will be open to all NASPA members that are eligible to vote in regional elections.   There will be a survey sent to all graduate members to gather their feedback on consolidation as well.
The e-mail states that the resolution to move to a vote of the membership passed by a considerable margin and that was true. Speaking for myself, I know there are a lot of concerns that I still have about the proposal for consolidation and am still struggling with whether or not it is the right thing, but I did vote to send it to the membership as it was clear to me that is what IV-West wanted.
I had the opportunity to share the letter posted previously and received assurances that those issues would be addressed in some way if the PLAN for consolidation passes.  There has been a group commissioned to create a voting guide with pros and cons that will include input from colleagues that are both strongly against consolidation, as well as pro consolidation.
Unfortunately there was not a lot of other business that took place at the meeting as this topic absorbed the time.  But I can share that the NASPA Offices are beautiful - and more heavily guarded than Fr. Knox.
The topic is now in your hands and I hope you take time to review and understand the “what if’s”, opportunity costs and opportunities.  Your vote will matter!
Let me know if you have any questions.
