Thanksgiving! (and of course Unification)

Most of the students here at UMKC have headed home for Thanksgiving.  I don’t know about anyone else, but the lateness of Thanksgiving this year has really made the last couple of weeks rough – everyone (students, staff, family) seem a bit off kilter and emotions are thinner than normal.  I have heard a number of theories – everything from the full moon to FourLoko and of course actual coursework, but none of them seem to explain it.  I just hope that everyone can come back from the break with a renewed vigor and energy to end the semester on a high note.
I’m still basking a bit in the success of the IV-West Conference hosted in Omaha by Dr. Wayne Young and his amazing team.  It was a great experience with a lot of great people.  For those of you that were unable to attend, or missed her session – here is a link to the powerpoint slides that Dr. Elizabeth Griego, NASPA President shared at the conference (transparency note - these are the slides that were shown to all other regions after our meeting – it was clear that some items were missing from her presentation based on our questions – hopefully this addresses them).
I am preparing to head to Washington next week for the national board meeting. It should be an interesting meeting!
Happy Thanksgiving – I’m definitely thankful for the opportunity to serve you all in this role.
