Another Face of NASPA

One of the other things that I hope this blog will provide is an opportunity to highlight some of the tremendous colleagues on our regional advisory board.  The first I want to introduce you to is Mr. Rashad Givhan.

Rashad L. Givhan serves as the Residential Life Coordinator for Oak Place Apartments, overseeing the implementation of educational and social programming, staff supervision, adjudication, and crisis management. He is particularly interested in educating students about multiculturalism and works closely with other departments to achieve that goal.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., Rashad earned his bachelor’s in English / Journalism and English / Public Relations at Missouri Western State University and earned his master’s in English / Creative Writing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he also developed an interest for Student Affairs.

While at UMKC, he plans to further hone his skills as a Student Affairs professional. Fusing his passion for serving students with his love of writing, Rashad hopes to add a unique dimension to the UMKC Division of Student Affairs.

Rashad will be serving for Region IV-West as an Assistant to the RVP, trying to keep me organized.

Please help me welcome Rashad to the board!  He can be contacted at givhanr@umkc.edu
